Emraan revisits horror again

The cast and crew of Emraan Hashmi’s Tum Mile, a film which is based on the July 26 Mumbai floods, has been the other way around. The flood scenes in the film have been inspired from real-life events.

The film shows the image where Emraan is found standing on the top of a car and the rain is pouring on him and he’s looking for someone on a crowded street that is jammed with people and vehicles. The actor had experienced something similar in real life during the July 2005 floods.

The film is directed by Kunal Deshmukh and stars Emraan Hashmi and Soha Ali Khan. Kunal says, “Emraan, Mohit and I were shooting for a music video for Kalyug. The shoot was indoors and we didn’t realise that outside the whole city was flooded. When we came out, we were horrified. None of us had seen anything like that before and Emraan climbed up on a car to look around.”

Emraan says, “When Kunal showed me this still, it just brought back a lot of memories and feelings about that day. What I saw when I climbed up on the car is still etched in my mind. Mumbai which never sleeps had practically stopped.”

Emraan Hashmi’s next releases for 2009 are Raftaar 24 x 7 the film also casts Neha Dhupia,Sagarika Ghatge and it is directed by Shamin Desai. Once Upon A Time In Mumbai is directed by Milan Luthria starring Ajay Devgan, Prachi Desai and Kangana Ranaut. The film is set for 2010 release.
